Mordecai's Musings are a weekly commentary/letter on society, church and other topics.

St Barnabas Church has seen many changes in its one hundred year history! Situated on a very busy corner in the vibrant City Bowl of Cape Town we are going through further transformations!

The theme "Old and New" is reflected in the modern extensions being built on to the beautiful sandstone church.

Old and New is evident in the diverse community around us and is expressed in the three different worship services each Sunday. We are one church with three congregations:

• 8:30am: We have a traditional Anglican Eucharist for those who value using the Prayer Book.
• 10:00am: The Family Service with Children's Church is growing in popularity.
• 7:00pm: The evening worship takes a contemporary approach as we apply "age old" Biblical truths to the "new and now' generation.

We place a high value on relationships and want to be a community of healing, hope and restoration as we share the love of our Lord Jesus in a hurting and searching world. We try to make the teaching of the Bible authentic and understood in our post-modern world and encourage the growth of informal small groups.
