An oxymoron and a source of many ills.
Will YOU blog for StB?
One of the most effective tools that God gives us for doing his work, is our voice - its the primary way we communicate. We can choose to use it, abuse it, or neglect it. God's call is "Make a noise, find your voice".
So, someone asked me what one writes for a blog. This is my response ...
A blog is one side of a conversation. If YOU don't speak, how will you ever communicate? The principle is: what would you naturally want to talk about in a casual conversation over a glass of wine:
"Hey, you know what happened today ..."
Conversation is made of experiences that I want to talk about. For myself, any given day will easily give me half a dozen "blogg'able" events I want to talk about with others.
- yesterday over coffee I was chatting with someone about what it means to really give ... it got to be quite an intense discussion. I came home and told someone else about it and another discussion ensued. I wanted to talk about it ... its blog'able.
- earlier this week I overheard two very rich and proud young entrepreneurs trying to outdo each other with their respective achievements, and how each thought they had the best and more expensive car. I left thinking "its so hard to be rich and successful" -- a blog'able thought.
- I listened to someone arguing, and thought about how sometimes I need to argue with God, because I need to agree with him if I am to be on his side. Until I wrestle with the conflict between my and God's agenda, at best I will only participate out of duty. Blog'able!
